Huish Detergents Inc. Selects Transportation Management System
Extensive reporting, automatic auditing from LeanLogistics facilitates compliance for manufacturer of store-brand laundry detergents

Holland, MI — August 26, 2008 — The largest manufacturer of store-brand laundry detergents and fabric softeners in North America, Huish Detergents Inc., has selected LeanLogistics' On-Demand TMS to improve transportation processes while lowering costs.

Huish is also a full- service manufacturer of private-label brands and their own Sun Brand of detergents, shipping more than 6.5 million cases of product per month.

Huish Detergents said it will utilize the WebSettle component of On-Demand TMS to streamline accounting functions and provide proper Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance reporting. LeanLogistics said WebSettle provides freight payment capabilities, allowing customers to pay the correct amount the first time and to pay the carrier only once.

The Huish centralized transportation management team, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, is responsible for shipping more than 4,500 outbound loads of finished goods per month from five shipping locations: Salt Lake City, Utah; Bowling Green, Ky.; Dyersburg, Tenn.; Houston, Texas; and Franklin, Ky.

Huish said it uses On-Demand TMS to plan and execute inbound, outbound and stock-transfer shipments. Loads are automatically rated and routed to the carrier of choice. Electronic tendering and acceptance eliminates the need to follow-up by phone or fax.

Huish said it strives to maintain an over-99 percent customer service level. They are committed to continuing a high standard of responsibility to their customers. The company said the On-Demand TMS LeanAdvisor and Dispatch Console gives it complete and timely status updates on exceptions and service failures, so it can alert customers to potential delays while searching for alternative solutions.

On-Demand TMS also facilitates collaboration among all trading partners, allowing Huish to consolidate its carrier base and improve communications. Built-in reporting provides more pertinent carrier management reporting along with financial information. Huish said it gains by streamlining processes for lower transportation costs and improved customer service levels.
